Which Do I Hate More?

Okay, so it’s obvious my training has not been up to par the last few weeks.  Thanks to the encouragement of my good friends (thanks for leaving a comment!), I decided to do something I hate to do…

I went running tonight.

Yes, my friends happen to be a marathon runner and a triathlete, so running seems like an obvious choice when trying to get in shape.  My wife also happens to be a runner and tonight when I got home from work she went for a run while I got the kids ready for bed (my idea of a workout).  So, when my wife got home, I reflected on the advice of my good friends and decided to bite the bullet and go for a run.

Well, I didn’t bother figuring out much of a route or clocking any distance.  I figured I would be crumpled in a sweaty heap of cramped up pain quickly enough that the event didn’t merit serious planning.  I grabbed an i-pod, laced up my shoes, and went out the door.

Sure enough, *twelve* minutes later I  came crawling back through the door, having run a loop around the neighborhood across the street.  I think I ate dinner a little too recently and it sure was killing me.  I figure if I got my clothes sweat through completely, then twelve minutes must be good enough.  It’s a start at least.

So, the question is… do I hate running more than being fat?  Time will tell…

    I hope not!!! :)

And don’t sell yourself short. You did go a mile, which is pretty good considering you’ve hardly run at all in the last…well, in a long enough time that one mile is a pretty decent distance!
