Bod Pod Body Fat and Official Weigh In

Bod Pod Body Fat Machine

No, that is not a space capsule, it’s a Bod Pod :-)  I made an appointment for my first official day of the low-calorie diet (500!) to start the official measurement of progress for this year.  Incidently, I’ll have to update my progress sheet with some new pictures (scary!) and weight & waist chart.

Weight: 228 lbs.
Waist: 43.75″
Body Fat: 34.6%

Wow.  Numbers that big shouldn’t be associated with me.  Do the math.  That’s 80 lbs. of fat!

Well, one thing I learned about this blog the first time around was that shame apparently wasn’t a motivator for me.  I shared everything on this blog, but at the end of the day I just couldn’t change my habits and get back in shape.

This time… those numbers are pretty embarrassing.  I think the body fat test pushed it over the line.  Not that the other numbers aren’t scary.  Well, this year these numbers have got to change!

Catching Up

Okay, it’s been a while since I’ve posted.  Not too much exciting going on.  Basically I’ve held the weight relatively constant and just recently worked off a bit more from my waist, thanks to starting some light training with the powerwheel my sister lent me.

What it comes down to is the fact that I haven’t really been committed to losing weight (no surprise there).  I’m still happy with the trend since I started this blog, since I was gaining weight at a ridiculous pace, and now I’m about 13 pounds lighter than when I started, thanks to eating a bit healthier and exercising a bit more.  I’m hoping that at some point this summer I will really ramp things up.

If you all have any insights into what gives you the motivation to eat healthy, get & stay in shape, etc. etc., please feel free to share!

Here’s where the weekly weigh-ins landed the past several weeks…

Weight: 206.2 lbs. (new low!)
Waist: 39 inches

5/11:

Waist: 39 inches (yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

5/4:

Weight: 208 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

4/27:

Weight: 207.8 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

4/20:

Weight: 207.4 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

4/13:

Weight: 208.4 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

4/6:

Weight: 208.8 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

My Scale Likes Me Now

Okay, so, the new battery must be doing it’s job right, because this week it logged:

Weight: 208.8 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

The crazy thing is, I haven’t been doing the best job these past couple weeks.  I know there are pretty decent size fluctuations with someone who weighs as much as I do, but I’ll just say it was encouraging to step on the scale and have it be on a “low” swing.  I’m going to need to step things up if I’m going to keep up the downward trend.

By the way, I just updated my progress chart to catch it up to date for the year.

Guess Again

Okay, so lame of me, but I never got around to buying a size CR 2032 battery this week, so my scale still wasn’t speaking to me.  So, once again, I’m going to take a guess and say I’m the same as last week:

Weight: 209.4 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

My shoulder is still hurting, so I’m hoping I can recover a bit more and then get back on track.  Oh yea, and buy that battery…

Shot in the Dark

This morning when I stepped on the scale, I noticed something new — a dead battery message!  So, I’m just going to pretend like I’m the same as last week:

Weight: 209.4 lbs.
Waist: 39.25 inches

My shoulder has been hurting pretty bad, so this week I’m going to take things a little easier…
